Step into a rewarding contract role as a Special Education Teacher shaping the lives of young learners for the 2026-2027 school year. Working full-time, Monday through Friday from 7:45 AM to 3:30 PM, you’ll lead a foundational learning classroom dedicated to EC-6 students in a close-knit group of five. Two students will need additional functional support, offering the chance to put your expertise to work in a setting focused on both life skills instruction and individual growth.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Texas Educator License with Special Education and Core/Generalist Endorsements required
- Experience participating in Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings; comfortable contributing to planning and paperwork
- Background in supporting students with a range of functional and life skills needs
- Committed to adhering to professional dress code guidelines, including natural hair colors, professional attire, limited earrings, and discretion with tattoos and piercings
- Collaborative approach, excellent communication, and organizational skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored instruction for foundational learning and life skills to ensure student progress toward IEP goals
- Support each student’s unique developmental, academic, and social-emotional needs
- Maintain comprehensive records and actively participate in ARD meetings
- Foster a classroom environment that values inclusivity, respect, and positive behavioral support
- Communicate regularly with families and multidisciplinary teams
