Dyslexia Special Education Teacher - Austin, TX

Make a meaningful difference in the lives of students as a dedicated Dyslexia Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This contract opportunity offers the chance to support a caseload of approximately 25 students, working with both Special Education and General Education learners. The position primarily focuses on EC-6 but there may also be the possibility to work with Upper School students. The instructional day runs from 7:45 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, allowing for a consistent schedule.

Your expertise will shape reading outcomes for children through the proven Reading by Design curriculum. The role requires a collaborative educator who is comfortable attending and actively contributing to Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings. Maintaining a professional appearance in accordance with the school’s dress code policy is essential in fostering an inclusive environment.

Qualifications:

• Valid Texas Educator License with Special Education and Generalist/Core Endorsements
• Demonstrated success supporting students with dyslexia
• Experience participating in ARD meetings
• Ability to connect with both Special Education and General Education students
• Commitment to upholding school policies and fostering community

Responsibilities:

• Deliver targeted, evidence-based reading instruction to students with dyslexia
• Adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs
• Participate in and contribute to ARD processes for student support
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and interventions
