Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher Needed!

Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher to support students with hearing loss in a school-based setting. The ideal candidate will have experience working with DHH students, strong collaboration skills, and a passion for helping students access instruction and succeed academically.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct instruction and support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals in collaboration with the IEP team.
Support students in inclusive and/or pull-out settings based on individual needs.
Collaborate with general education teachers, families, interpreters, audiologists, and related service providers.
Adapt instruction and classroom materials to support student access and communication needs.
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation in compliance with state and federal guidelines.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or related field.
Active Deaf Education/DHH teaching license in the state of Alabama required.
School-based experience supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing preferred.
Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
Knowledge of IEPs, accommodations, assistive technology, and communication supports.
