Soliant is seeking a qualified Special Education Teacher to support a Foundational Learning/Life Skills classroom near Kyle, Texas, for the 2026–2027 school year.

Position: Special Education Teacher – Foundational Learning/Life Skills
Location: Kyle, TX
Schedule: Full-Time
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:45 AM–3:30 PM
Duration: Full 2026–2027 School Year
Setting: EC–6 Foundational Learning/Life Skills Classroom
Caseload: 5 students
Student Population: EC–6 students receiving specialized academic and functional support

Classroom Details

• Classroom focuses on positive reinforcement, earned rewards, and a structured value system.

• Two students require a higher level of functional support in addition to life skills instruction.

• Teacher will provide individualized academic, behavioral, and functional support based on student needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized instruction to students in a Foundational Learning/Life Skills classroom.

• Develop and implement individualized instruction based on students' academic, functional, developmental, and behavioral needs.

• Support students in meeting their IEP goals and making meaningful academic and functional progress.

• Implement positive reinforcement strategies and classroom systems designed to encourage student engagement and success.

• Provide appropriate accommodations, modifications, and differentiated instruction.

• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation related to IEP goals and services.

• Participate in Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings and contribute meaningfully to student planning and IEP development.

• Collaborate with general education teachers, special education staff, administrators, related service providers, and families.

• Maintain a structured, supportive, and positive classroom environment.

• Provide functional and life skills support as appropriate to individual student needs.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Texas Educator License with Special Education endorsement required.

• Previous ARD experience required.

• Must be comfortable attending and actively contributing to ARD meetings.

• Experience working with students in a Foundational Learning, Life Skills, or self-contained special education setting preferred.

• Strong classroom management, communication, organization, and collaboration skills.

• Ability to provide individualized academic and functional instruction.

• Ability to work full-time, Monday–Friday, throughout the 2026–2027 school year.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Foundational Learning or Life Skills classroom.

• Experience supporting students with significant functional or behavioral needs.

• Experience working with EC–6 students.

• Familiarity with positive reinforcement and structured classroom behavior systems.

• Experience developing, implementing, and monitoring IEP goals.

• Strong understanding of accommodations, modifications, differentiated instruction, and functional skill development.
