Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Valid Special Education Teaching Credential
• Demonstrated experience working with moderate to severe student populations
• Strong behavior management and intervention skills
• Understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
• Ability to create a nurturing, adaptive learning environment
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities with staff and families

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging, standards-based instruction to a self-contained SDC class of middle school students
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s strengths and needs
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals, therapists, and support staff to meet students’ academic, emotional, and behavioral goals
• Foster a classroom culture of respect, acceptance, and safety
• Utilize a variety of teaching strategies, accommodations, and assistive technology where appropriate
• Participate in relevant meetings, professional development opportunities, and communicate regularly with parents/guardians
