Step into an impactful contract role supporting middle school students with significant support needs in a dedicated educational environment. This opportunity is designed for licensed Special Education Teachers committed to making a meaningful difference in students' lives by nurturing academic, social, and emotional growth.
You’ll work with a focused caseload of five 6th-8th grade students, collaborating with a supportive team and contributing to individualized education programs that empower each learner. This position runs from immediate start through the potential end date of May 28. The weekly schedule is Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8:40 AM to 3:50 PM, with a slightly later start on Wednesdays at 9:40 AM.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid state certification as a Special Education Teacher; license must be presented during the application process
- Experience working with middle school-aged students, particularly in settings with significant support needs
- Strong understanding of IDEA and IEP development
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Compassionate, hands-on approach and adaptability within a dynamic classroom environment
- Ability to collaborate effectively with families, staff, and multidisciplinary teams
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction and support for a small caseload in a significant needs classroom
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs consistent with students’ unique strengths and requirements
- Manage classroom routines to create a safe, inclusive, and encouraging learning space
- Collect and report data on student progress, adjusting techniques as needed
- Work closely with support staff and related service providers to maximize student success
