Desired Qualifications:
- Current certification in Special Education (or eligibility for certification)
- Previous classroom experience with K-6 students, preferably in a life skills or special education setting
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Exceptional communication skills and a collaborative approach with staff, students, and families
- Patience, creativity, and a true dedication to fostering student growth
Key Responsibilities:
- plan and deliver individualized life skills instruction to K-6th grade students with various learning needs
- collaborate with general education teachers and other support staff to ensure inclusive practices
- develop, monitor, and update students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- use a range of instructional strategies and adaptive materials to meet student goals
- track academic and behavioral progress, adjusting interventions as needed
- provide ongoing communication with families about student achievements and next steps
- create a safe, positive, and supportive classroom atmosphere where every student can thrive
