Special Education Teacher - Ballwin, Missouri

Bring your expertise as a Special Education Teacher to an engaging contract opportunity for the 2026-2027 school year. Two full-time roles are open, both offering impactful work with dedicated support and collaborative teams. Both positions follow a schedule from 8:15 AM to 3:30 PM (with a 30-minute lunch), beginning in August 2026 and extending through late May 2027.

What sets these positions apart is the chance to work with a manageable caseload—up to 12-24 students, split between morning and afternoon half-day sessions. Your primary responsibility will be to nurture student growth through tailored instruction aligned with IEP goals, while fostering a classroom environment where every child can thrive.

• Valid certification as a Special Education Teacher
• Experience supporting students with diverse learning needs
• Proficiency with creating, implementing, and monitoring IEPs
• Strong collaboration skills for working with IEP teams, families, and colleagues

• Commitment to professional development and district-wide initiatives

Key Responsibilities

• Design and deliver individualized lesson plans and instruction to students with special needs
• Integrate IEP goals into daily lessons, documenting progress at three intervals each year
• Create, update, and implement IEPs, conducting meetings and coordinating with the IEP team
• Attend Professional Learning Community (PLC) meetings and ongoing professional development
• Follow prescribed curriculum and address other assigned duties as needed
