Key Qualifications:

  • Hold a valid Special Education teaching certification.
  • Experience working with high school-aged students, particularly those with autism, is highly valued.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a flexible approach to meeting diverse student needs.
  • Comfortable assisting with basic personal care, including some toileting responsibilities as needed.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized and group instruction tailored to students' IEPs, fostering both academic and personal development.
  • Develop engaging lesson plans and adapt teaching strategies for unique learning requirements.
  • Collaborate with instructional aides, therapists, and other educators to ensure cohesive support for each student.
  • Monitor progress and maintain detailed records for IEP meetings and reporting.
  • Create a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment that supports student independence and self-advocacy.
  • Communicate regularly with families to update them on their child’s achievements and address questions or concerns.
