Seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support high school students with autism in an onsite, full-time capacity. This role offers a contract-to-hire opportunity focused on delivering specialized educational services in a structured school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students with autism spectrum disorder.
  • Utilize evidence-based teaching strategies to foster academic and social development.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including therapists, administrators, and families to ensure student success.
  • Manage classroom behavior and promote a positive, inclusive learning environment.
  • Perform toileting assistance as needed to support student hygiene and independence.
  • Monitor and document student progress, adjusting instructional methods accordingly.

Qualifications:

  • Valid teaching certification in Special Education.
  • Experience working with high school students, particularly those on the autism spectrum.
  • Ability to handle toileting and personal care with sensitivity and professionalism.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive educational setting.
