Seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support high school students with autism in an onsite, full-time capacity. This role offers a contract-to-hire opportunity focused on delivering specialized educational services in a structured school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students with autism spectrum disorder.
- Utilize evidence-based teaching strategies to foster academic and social development.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including therapists, administrators, and families to ensure student success.
- Manage classroom behavior and promote a positive, inclusive learning environment.
- Perform toileting assistance as needed to support student hygiene and independence.
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting instructional methods accordingly.
Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education.
- Experience working with high school students, particularly those on the autism spectrum.
- Ability to handle toileting and personal care with sensitivity and professionalism.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive educational setting.
