6th Grade 5th Grade Special Education Teacher | Barnwell, South Carolina

Essential Qualifications:

• Valid teaching certification in Special Education (K-6 or appropriate grade levels)
• Experience or strong knowledge base in working with students in upper elementary / early middle grades
• Understanding of developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Ability to adapt lesson plans and teaching strategies for diverse learning needs
• Strong organization, communication, and collaboration skills
• Familiarity with SPED compliance (SPED 26/27 experience is a plus)

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver tailored instruction for 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students, focusing on individualized learning goals
• Manage IEPs, including assessments, goal setting, and progress monitoring
• Collaborate closely with general education teachers, specialists, and families to ensure comprehensive student support
• Employ a variety of instructional techniques and technology to facilitate learning and engagement
• Monitor and document student progress, adjusting approaches and supports as needed
