Special Education Teacher - Barre, Vermont

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a Special Education Teacher in a vibrant Vermont school community. These in-person roles begin as soon as possible and extend through June 18, 2027, offering the chance to make a long-term impact with consistent hours each week.

Two positions are available:

• A Middle School Special Educator, focusing on fifth and sixth grade students, including teaching, case management, student evaluations, and IEP development.
• A High School Special Educator, responsible for managing a caseload of students on IEPs, providing direct instruction, and supervising paraeducators.

Desired Qualifications:

• Current credentials meeting Vermont state requirements for Special Education Teachers
• Experience developing, implementing, and monitoring IEPs
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work effectively in-person, engaging with students, families, and colleagues
• Previous experience in a middle or high school environment preferred

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and group instruction to students with varying exceptionalities
• Develop, update, and maintain compliant IEPs through the duration of the contract
• Case manage a targeted student population, ensuring all services are provided accordingly
• Conduct required evaluations and assessments for eligibility and ongoing service quality
• Collaborate with general educators, specialists, and paraeducators to maximize student success
• Maintain accurate documentation and actively participate in IEP meetings
