Key Qualifications:

• Current Special Education Certification in Kansas is required
• Experience as a resource or specialized (self-contained) special education teacher is highly valued
• Comfortable working with both elementary and secondary age groups
• Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills
• Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Commitment to supporting diverse learners in an onsite setting

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver tailored instruction in either a resource or self-contained classroom
• Collaborate with general education teachers, paras, and school teams to foster student success
• Monitor student progress, maintain records, and write detailed IEPs
• Engage positively with families, advocating for students’ needs
• Utilize classroom management strategies that promote a safe, inclusive environment
• Adapt teaching materials and methods for individualized learning
• Support students’ academic, social, and behavioral growth throughout the school year
