Special Education Teacher | Basehor, Kansas

Embark on a contract opportunity supporting students’ growth and success as a Special Education Teacher. This position is based onsite in a vibrant educational environment near Basehor, KS, and spans the academic year from August 12, 2026, through May 26, 2027. There are three immediate openings available, each offering a chance to work directly with middle and high school learners who benefit from specialized support.

Take on a fulfilling schedule of 37.5 hours a week where you'll make a daily difference for students with a variety of learning needs. Caseloads include middle school life skills and high school resource settings, ensuring you’ll gain broad and meaningful experience while providing tailored educational support.

Desired Qualifications:

• Active Kansas Special Education Teaching Certification required
• Experience working with middle or high school students in life skills or resource settings is preferred
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork
• Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive classroom environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction tailored to students with diverse learning needs in middle school life skills and high school resource rooms
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Collaborate with general education staff, families, and support personnel
• Track student progress and adjust interventions as necessary
• Participate in professional development and staff meetings as required
