Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Valid Maine 282 certification for special education and CHRC certification (required)
  • Experience developing and implementing positive behavioral support plans
  • Skilled in designing and carrying out programs addressing academic, social-emotional, and behavioral needs
  • Familiarity with Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS)
  • Willingness to become Safety Care trained
  • Strong communication abilities, both written and verbal
  • Collaborative spirit and ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver individualized instruction for K-5 students with varying needs
  • Create, implement, and monitor positive behavioral support plans, working closely with related service providers and families
  • Use evidence-based practices to support students academically and emotionally within an inclusive classroom environment
  • Collect data and maintain comprehensive, up-to-date student records, ensuring compliance with IEP goals and state regulations
  • Participate in intervention team meetings and contribute to ongoing development of MTSS school-wide
  • Serve as an advocate for students with disabilities and collaborate to ensure accessible learning opportunities
