Qualifications and Experience:

• Current, active Michigan Special Education Teacher license (verification required)
• Experience working with high school students, preferably in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) program settings
• Strong classroom management and individualized instruction skills
• Ability to develop and implement IEPs tailored to student needs
• Positive attitude, compassion, and commitment to inclusive education
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with colleagues, families, and support staff

Responsibilities:

• Teach and support high school-age students in ASD-designated classrooms
• Develop, adapt, and deliver individualized lesson plans and instructional strategies
• Maintain accurate, detailed records and documentation, including IEPs and assessments
• Create a safe, structured, and welcoming learning environment for all students
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—educators, therapists, and administrators—to ensure student success
• Provide regular communication with families regarding student progress and needs
• Participate in professional development and training as required by the district
