Special Education Teacher in Battle Creek, MI

Required Qualifications and Experience:

• Current Michigan Special Education teaching license or eligibility to obtain one before the start date
• Demonstrated experience working with high school students in an educational setting
• Strong understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) educational strategies and best practices
• Commitment to fostering a supportive, inclusive, and positive classroom environment
• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with students, parents, and interdisciplinary teams

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs
• Manage all aspects of classroom instruction and behavioral support for high school students with ASD
• Monitor students’ academic, social, and behavioral progress, and adjust interventions as necessary
• Collaborate with school staff, families, and external professionals to promote student success and well-being
• Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all state and federal regulations for special education
