Key Qualifications:

• Valid special education teaching license in Michigan (active status required)
• Experience in Cognitive Impairment classrooms or a strong desire to work in this environment
• Ability to effectively support, instruct, and advocate for high school students with varying needs
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with staff, students, and families
• Strong organizational abilities and a team-focused attitude

Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction to high school students with cognitive impairments
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team
• Adapt lessons and materials to support differentiated learning and maximize student participation
• Track progress, complete required documentation, and maintain compliance with local and state regulations
• Foster an inclusive, engaging, and supportive classroom climate
• Partner with families and caregivers to promote student success both in and outside the classroom
