Key Qualifications:
- Valid Delaware Special Education (SPED) teaching certification, required prior to the start of the school year
- Previous experience in special education, ideally within middle or high school settings
- Confidence teaching English Language Arts at the 8th and 12th grade levels
- Familiarity with, or willingness to learn, the Infinite IEP program strongly preferred
- Proficiency in developing and adapting curriculum to diverse student learning needs
- Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills
Your Role:
- Teach English to students with diverse learning profiles in both co-taught and small group classroom settings
- Support 23 students on your caseload, ensuring their IEPs are implemented effectively
- Manage two co-taught classes with general education teachers, plus two small group classes
- Utilize two daily prep periods to plan lessons, monitor student progress, and collaborate with colleagues
- Work closely with families, related service providers, and administration to fulfill special education mandates and promote positive outcomes
- Complete paperwork, progress monitoring, and IEP-related responsibilities as required by state and district guidelines
