Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Delaware Special Education Teaching License (required)
- Experience or keen interest in working with elementary-aged students, especially within autism support programs
- Knowledge of IEP development and implementation
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to obtain required CBC fingerprinting at personal cost ($85 fee)
- Reliable, compassionate, and committed to fostering inclusive classroom environments
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction aligned with students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Create adaptive lesson plans and modify instructional strategies based on student needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers to ensure student success and progress
- Document student growth and maintain accurate records for compliance and reporting
- Communicate regularly with families to provide updates on student achievements and areas for growth
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute insightful recommendations for student goals
The position offers a consistent weekday schedule, Monday–Friday, from 8:25 a.m. to 3:55 p.m., which includes a 30-minute paid lunch daily—totaling 37.5 hours per week.
