This full-time, onsite contract role is available as an early childhood special education teacher, covering a maternity leave from mid-August through October, with a possible extension. Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid certification in Special Education (Early Childhood focus preferred)
- Experience working with young children with a range of developmental and learning differences
- Strong ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, staff, and families
- Organizational skills for managing classroom routines and documentation
- Familiarity with current teaching strategies and assistive technologies
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, adapt, and deliver lesson plans tailored to students’ specific strengths and needs
- Conduct assessments and document progress in line with IEP objectives
- Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages active learning
- Work collaboratively with paraprofessionals, therapists, and general education staff
- Maintain clear communication with families regarding student progress and needs
- Participate in in-person interviews as part of the hiring process, as preferred by the client
