Step into a rewarding educational environment supporting 5th and 6th grade students as a special education teacher and case manager for a Life Skills/Intensive Needs program. This full-time contract opportunity extends from ASAP through June 2027, allowing you to make a lasting difference in the lives of a small group of students with diverse needs. You’ll provide tailored instruction and individual support, collaborating closely with students, staff, and families.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid Special Education Teacher certification (or eligibility)
  • Experience working with elementary or middle school students in special education settings, preferably with life skills or intensive needs populations
  • Strong commitment to inclusive education and differentiated instruction
  • Proficiency in developing and managing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
  • Ability to adapt to quickly evolving student needs and instructional requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized and small group instruction to 5th/6th grade students in a Life Skills/Intensive Needs program
  • Manage a caseload of three students with varying exceptionalities, focusing on academic, functional, and social-emotional growth
  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in partnership with other professionals and parents/guardians
  • Collect data, track student progress, and adjust teaching approaches accordingly
  • Foster an inclusive, supportive, and structured classroom environment
  • Serve as a primary point of contact and advocate for student needs, coordinating effectively with related service providers

This is a full-time opportunity requiring a commitment of 35-37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Your expertise will be valued in a close-knit program with the potential to positively impact students’ daily lives.
