Special Education Teacher in Belding, MI

This full-time contract opportunity is located near Belding, MI, and involves working in a self-contained classroom for K-5 and middle school students. Your expertise as a Special Education Teacher will foster an environment where each child’s unique needs are understood and elevated.

Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education Teaching certification (or eligibility for certification)
• Previous experience working in ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) classrooms is highly preferred
• Familiarity with creating and adapting Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Ability to collaborate with other educators, staff, and families
• Passion for meeting diverse learning and behavioral needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction in a self-contained, center-based ASD classroom
• Develop engaging lesson plans tailored to individual student goals and IEPs
• Monitor student progress and regularly update documentation
• Utilize evidence-based strategies to encourage social, emotional, and academic skills
• Maintain positive and proactive communication with families and multidisciplinary teams
• Effectively manage classroom routines to create a safe, nurturing environment
• Support students in both academic and daily living skills as appropriate

Schedule:

• Full-time position, 7:20 AM – 3:20 PM, Monday through Friday
• Single-school assignment, allowing you to form meaningful connections with students and staff
