Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting high school students in a specialized educational setting. Seeking a dedicated professional to serve as a Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This role focuses on an ASD classroom, offering structured support and personalized instruction to empower student growth.
Key Qualifications:
- Must hold, or be eligible to obtain, an active Michigan Special Education teaching license.
- Experience working with high school students and familiarity with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) educational strategies is highly preferred.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to manage diverse learning needs, modify curricula, and maintain an inclusive classroom environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, evidence-based instruction for high school students in an ASD classroom setting.
- Adapt lessons and classroom materials to accommodate individual student learning styles and IEP goals.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans, monitoring progress and adjusting approaches as needed.
- Collaborate closely with support staff, general education teachers, and therapists to promote an integrated support network.
- Maintain thorough, organized records and uphold all relevant state and district compliance standards.
- Foster a safe, positive, and respectful learning environment.
Assignment Details:
- Located onsite near Bellevue, MI (not remote).
- Contract duration: August 24, 2026 – June 10, 2027.
- Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, during regular school hours.
