An exciting opportunity is available for dedicated Special Education Teachers who are passionate about making a real impact in high school ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) classrooms. This position runs from late August 2026 through early June 2027 and offers a full-time contract schedule with 37.5 hours per week and six openings available. If you’re committed to helping high school students with special needs thrive in an inclusive and supportive environment, your skills and knowledge are needed for this important role.

Qualifications:

  • Must hold an active Michigan Special Education License (MI). Please be prepared to provide verification documentation upon request.
  • Experience working in high school ASD settings is highly valued.
  • Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and adaptation of curricula for students with varied needs.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, working well with students, staff, and families.
  • Ability to foster a safe, respectful, and positive learning atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction for high school students with ASD in onsite classroom environments.
  • Develop and implement IEPs tailored to each student’s goals and unique needs.
  • Use evidence-based strategies to foster engagement and facilitate academic, social, and emotional growth.
  • Collaborate closely with general education teachers, support staff, and families to advocate for student success.
  • Maintain accurate records and track progress on educational milestones.
  • Create dynamic lesson plans that recognize and celebrate each student’s potential.
