Step into a meaningful contract opportunity supporting students as a Special Education Teacher in resource classrooms at both elementary and middle school levels. Two positions are available; applicants should note their preference for either setting. With a caseload of 10 elementary or 11 middle school students, you’ll provide crucial educational support in a welcoming school community near Bellevue, MI.

The anticipated start is as soon as possible, with an assignment through June 10, 2027. Schedules are Monday through Friday, 35 hours per week, with the elementary schedule running 7:55 a.m. to 3:10 p.m. and the middle/secondary schedule from 7:35 a.m. to 2:40 p.m.

Key Qualifications:

  • Current, active Michigan Special Education Teacher license (MI SPED) required
  • Experience working in resource classroom settings preferred
  • Skill in adapting curriculum and instruction to support a range of learner needs
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and school staff
  • Passion for fostering student growth, independence, and confidence

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized and small group instruction in accordance with students’ IEPs
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to ensure inclusive learning
  • Maintain detailed, compliant documentation on student progress and IEP goals
  • Foster a safe, encouraging classroom environment for all learners
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding student achievement and progress
