Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education teaching certification for the state
  • Proven experience with middle school-aged students, especially in self-contained settings
  • Expertise in supporting learners with severe disabilities
  • Strong IEP development and case management abilities
  • Outstanding communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and families
  • Familiarity with evidence-based instructional strategies for diverse learners

Role Responsibilities:

  • Create, implement, and adapt lesson plans that meet the needs of students with severe disabilities
  • Foster a nurturing, structured environment for individual student growth
  • Develop and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with district and state regulations
  • Track student progress, document data, and communicate effectively with parents and related service staff
  • Employ a variety of instructional methods and resources to address diverse learning styles
  • Participate actively in team meetings, professional development, and ongoing collaboration with support professionals
