Make a meaningful impact by supporting young adults in a specialized transition program designed for female students aged 18-21 who have aged out of traditional school settings and have unmet IEP goals. As a Special Education Teacher, you'll lead a small, nurturing environment focused on helping students achieve important milestones and independence. The role is contract-based, offering 20-25 hours per week with a flexible start in August or September.

The program's core hours are 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM, and you'll typically log from 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM to prepare and wrap up daily lessons. This long-term opportunity ensures consistency for students and allows you to develop strong professional connections.

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

• Hold an active Special Education Teacher license.
• Prior experience working with students ages 18-21 or in transition programs preferred.
• Skilled in developing, implementing, and monitoring IEPs.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and support team members.
• Ability to build rapport and foster independence in young adult learners.
• Passion for creating inclusive, empowering educational experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the licensed teacher responsible for running the program.
• Develop and adapt lesson plans targeting functional academics, life skills, and IEP goals.
• Track and document student progress toward achievement of specific objectives.
• Foster a safe, supportive classroom atmosphere that encourages growth and confidence.
• Communicate regularly with program director and support staff.
• Maintain compliance with all special education requirements and program standards.
