Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Special Education teaching certification
  • Experience working with high school students in a resource or similar special education setting
  • Strong understanding of IEP processes, accommodations, and modifications
  • Effective communication skills for collaborating with teachers, families, and support staff
  • Ability to develop and implement individualized lesson plans
  • Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide specially designed instruction to high school students with varying exceptionalities in a resource setting
  • Implement and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations
  • Work closely with general education teachers to support student access to curriculum
  • Participate in IEP meetings, team planning, and ongoing progress monitoring
  • Manage classroom behaviors using positive and proactive strategies
  • Track student data and prepare progress reports for families and administrators
  • Maintain accurate records and provide support during state assessments

Position Details and Perks:

  • Full-time schedule: 37.5 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 7:30am–4:15pm
  • Contract dates: August 3, 2026, to May 20, 2027
  • Guaranteed hours each week and competitive compensation
