Desired qualifications and experience:
- Current certification in Special Education with an Emotional Impairment (EI) endorsement
- Experience developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Ability to collaborate effectively with high school staff, related service providers, and families
- Strong behavior management and communication skills
- Passion for fostering social, emotional, and academic growth in students with unique challenges
Key responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to students with emotional impairments in a supportive classroom environment
- Create and update personalized goals and accommodations as part of the IEP process
- Collaborate with local high schools to coordinate shared caseload and transition support
- Implement evidence-based strategies to encourage positive behaviors and emotional regulation
- Maintain accurate documentation and provide progress updates to stakeholders
- Partner with paraprofessional staff for an optimal learning environment
