This full-time contract position plays a vital role in delivering tailored instruction and interventions for a small, manageable caseload. You’ll nurture progress and development for up to 12 students, with no more than eight present at a time—and some shared with neighboring high schools. Desired qualifications and experience:

  • Current certification in Special Education with an Emotional Impairment (EI) endorsement
  • Experience developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs)
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with high school staff, related service providers, and families
  • Strong behavior management and communication skills
  • Passion for fostering social, emotional, and academic growth in students with unique challenges

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction to students with emotional impairments in a supportive classroom environment
  • Create and update personalized goals and accommodations as part of the IEP process
  • Collaborate with local high schools to coordinate shared caseload and transition support
  • Implement evidence-based strategies to encourage positive behaviors and emotional regulation
  • Maintain accurate documentation and provide progress updates to stakeholders
  • Partner with paraprofessional staff for an optimal learning environment
