Make a meaningful difference every day as you support students’ growth and development in a dedicated educational setting. This full-time contract position focuses on providing tailored instruction as a Special Education Teacher for students with emotional impairments.
You’ll manage a manageable caseload of 12 students—sharing 4 with local high schools—and have, at most, 8 students in your classroom at any given time, creating opportunities for meaningful engagement. Enjoy the support of paraprofessional staff to help meet student needs, and work in an environment where student safety and positive relationships are prioritized. There are no physically aggressive students in this program, allowing for an atmosphere conducive to learning and personal growth.
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification with endorsement in Emotional Impairment.
- Experience working with students with emotional impairments preferred.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom community.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction, interventions, and behavioral support for students with emotional impairments.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and school staff.
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Foster a positive, respectful, and structured classroom environment.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with families.
- Participate in team meetings, professional development, and school activities.
