Desired Qualifications:
- Current and valid LBS1 (Learning Behavior Specialist 1) certification, covering grades 9-12
- Prior experience or passion for working in high school special education settings
- A strong commitment to individualized instruction and inclusive classroom practices
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Adaptability and problem-solving mindset in supporting diverse learner needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Designing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to meet each student’s unique strengths and challenges
- Providing direct instruction and support in both individual and small group settings
- Collaborating with general education teachers, support staff, and families to promote student success and inclusion
- Monitoring student progress, collecting data, and adapting teaching strategies as needed
- Maintaining accurate documentation and adhering to all state and federal special education regulations
- Fostering a safe, encouraging classroom environment that promotes self-confidence and life skills
