Key Qualifications:

  • Current LBS1 license valid for grades 9-12 in Illinois
  • Experience or strong interest in working with high school students in a special education setting
  • Ability to build relationships and engage diverse learners
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction and support to students with varying learning needs
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with the IEP team
  • Adapt lessons and teaching strategies to accommodate different learning styles and abilities
  • Maintain progress monitoring and accurate documentation of student performance
  • Collaborate closely with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
  • Participate in professional development and department meetings as required
  • Ensure adherence to special education laws, regulations, and best practices
