What we’re seeking:

  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish
  • Active Special Education Teacher licensure for Illinois
  • Proven experience working with junior high or high school-aged students
  • Consistent career history reflecting dependability and commitment
  • Ability to adapt lessons to student needs, placing student engagement at the center of instruction
  • Demonstrated success collaborating with diverse teams and families
  • Strong classroom management skills with classes of 20 or fewer students

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, adapt, and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in both English and Spanish, ensuring each student’s needs are addressed
  • Foster a supportive classroom environment that emphasizes inclusion, emotional growth, and academic achievement
  • Employ creative teaching strategies, prioritizing student progress and engagement over rigid curriculum adherence
  • Maintain open communication with colleagues, support staff, administration, and families
  • Join in ongoing professional development to further enhance skills and best practices
  • Uphold documentation and compliance standards as required by state and school policy
