Special Education Teacher - Berwyn, IL

Qualifications:

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with LBS1 (Learning Behavior Specialist 1) endorsement required
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or a related field
• Previous experience teaching or supporting students with diverse learning needs is highly desired
• Strong communication, organization, and team collaboration skills
• Flexibility and adaptability to engage effectively with a range of classroom or program assignments

Core Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction tailored to meet Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals for students with disabilities
• Design and implement lesson plans that support differentiated learning and student progress
• Foster a supportive, inclusive classroom atmosphere where every student can thrive
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations
• Partner with general education teachers, specialists, and families to support student achievement and well-being
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school-based planning sessions
