Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher supporting K-4th grade students in dynamic Chicago communities. Beginning in October 2026, professionals in this role will guide a caseload of six students, working across both push-in and self-contained settings. Your expertise will contribute to a nurturing, effective learning environment in either the Englewood or East Chatham area, with the assignment continuing through December 2026 or January 2027.

Monday through Friday hours, from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm (with a 30-minute unpaid lunch), allow for work-life balance while making a positive difference every day.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Illinois State Educator License with LBS1 Endorsement
  • Ability to develop, write, and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Experience collaborating with related services staff for holistic student support
  • Two years of recent teaching experience in special education preferred
  • Comfortable managing a small caseload and adapting to both push-in and self-contained classroom environments

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver instruction tailored to the individual needs of K-4th grade students with diverse learning profiles
  • Cultivate inclusive learning environments utilizing best practices for special education
  • Communicate consistently with families and multidisciplinary teams to track student progress
  • Document milestones and adjust teaching strategies according to student growth
  • Support students with a blend of in-class and pull-out services as needed
