Exciting opportunities await educators passionate about supporting high school students in mathematics and special education! This contract position is designed for a dedicated professional who will work with both 9th- and 11th-grade learners in Algebra I and Algebra II. You’ll split your time between three self-contained classes and two co-taught sections, allowing for both focused teaching and collaborative support in a dynamic, inclusive environment.

What You’ll Do:

• Deliver quality instruction across three self-contained classes (two Algebra I, one Algebra II) and two co-taught sections, maximizing engagement and student growth.
• Collaborate closely with general education teachers to plan lessons, differentiate instruction, and integrate accommodations, ensuring curricular consistency across all instructional settings.
• Provide targeted push-in support for diverse learners (DL students) in co-taught classrooms, enhancing individualized learning experiences.
• Develop and write IEPs for an assigned caseload of approximately 15 students, focusing your expertise on academic and learning goals while operational case management responsibilities are handled by a dedicated case manager.
• Foster a supportive, inclusive classroom atmosphere that empowers all students to achieve success in mathematics.

What We’re Seeking:

• Valid Illinois Learning Behavior Specialist 1 (LBS1) certification.
• Strong proficiency in developing, writing, and implementing IEPs.
• Minimum of two years of recent teaching experience, ideally within a high school special education setting.
• Effective communication skills and a collaborative mindset to work seamlessly alongside general education colleagues.
