Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university
• Valid Alabama Professional Certificate
• Compliance with Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) federal and state requirements
• Demonstrated success or experience in special education teaching, preferably in self-contained classrooms
• Dedication to individualized instruction and collaborative teamwork

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with diverse learning needs
• Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to support student success
• Utilize a variety of instructional techniques and resources to engage all learners
• Monitor and document student progress; adjust strategies to meet IEP goals
• Cultivate a safe, respectful, and positive classroom environment
