Special Education Teacher in Bethlehem, PA

Covering absences, leaves, or vacations, you'll serve as an itinerant Special Education Teacher, taking on daily or extended assignments as needed within the service area.

Qualifications:

• Valid and active Pennsylvania teaching license required
• Current PA PDE Certification: Experience-Based Certificate in Special Education PK-12, or Instructional I/II Certificate in appropriate Special Education subject areas (must be verifiable via TIMS)
• Demonstrated experience working in special education classroom settings
• Solid background participating in IEP development and implementation
• Willingness to work exclusively in person (no virtual/remote option)
• Availability for a full-time schedule, 35 hours per week, following the school calendar
• Strong adaptability and collaborative skills
• Reliable transportation to travel across designated county sites

Responsibilities:

• Provide in-person special education instruction to students across preschool through grade 12, filling in for absent teachers or supporting extended leaves as needed
• Implement IEPs and modify instructional strategies based on student needs
• Maintain accurate records for student progress and daily assignments
• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment aligned with best practices in special education
• Engage collaboratively with school staff, parents, and other service providers
• Travel within Carbon or Lehigh County as assignment dictates, reporting to designated classrooms or sites
