Special Education Teacher in Bethlehem, PA

This itinerant contract opportunity places you in a dynamic, substitute-based assignment, rotating among specialized classrooms within approximately a 35-minute commute. You’ll have the chance to impact programs ranging from enhanced autism support to emotional and multiple disabilities classrooms, providing meaningful instruction and adaptive strategies for a variety of student needs.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Pennsylvania Special Education certification (required or preferred based on assignment specifics)
• Experience teaching in special education settings, with the ability to implement IEP goals and customized instruction
• Proven track record in classroom management and delivering behavioral supports
• Comfortable collaborating with paraprofessionals, related services, and families to maximize student growth
• Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability in unfamiliar or changing classroom environments

Preferred Experience:

• Direct support within autism programs, including use of ABA strategies, communication supports, and BIPs
• Experience in emotional support or multiple disabilities classrooms
• Familiarity with IU or specialized school environments, including functional curriculums and sensory regulation approaches
