Special Education Teacher | Bethlehem, Pennsylvania

A rewarding opportunity is available for a dedicated Special Education Teacher to provide vital support to middle school students in an Autistic Support setting. This contract position is perfect for those passionate about inclusive education and making a positive impact in students’ daily lives. The schedule runs from 7:15am to 2:45pm, offering a stable routine with 35 hours per week (including a 30-minute unpaid lunch), beginning as soon as possible through June 10, 2027.

Qualifications:

• Current Pennsylvania Teaching Certificate with Special Education endorsement appropriate for middle school grades
• Experience teaching or supporting students with autism spectrum disorders is highly valued
• Ability to tailor instruction to diverse learning needs and create a supportive classroom atmosphere
• Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills
• Willingness to adapt to evolving student rosters and support individualized success

Responsibilities:

• Deliver structured, engaging lessons aligned with individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages social, emotional, and academic growth
• Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers
• Monitor student progress, report findings, and adjust teaching strategies as needed
• Maintain open communication with families regarding student achievements and challenges
• Participate in team meetings and professional development as required
