Key Qualifications:

• Current and valid Alabama SPED licensure (verification available via the state certification portal)
• K-6 certification required for the inclusion position at Montevallo Elementary
• 6-12 certification accepted for both the inclusion and self-contained roles
• Passion for working with students requiring individualized education
• Ability to collaborate effectively with general education teachers, support staff, and families

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction to meet each student’s IEP goals
• For Montevallo Elementary: Support an inclusion caseload, co-teaching with general education staff to foster access and growth
• For Calera Intermediate: Guide and instruct students in self-contained settings, adapting curriculum and interventions for diverse abilities
• Manage student progress, maintain documentation, and participate in all required meetings
• Communicate regularly with parents, service providers, and educational teams
• Contribute to a supportive, positive learning environment for all students
