Special Education Teacher in Black Hawk, CO

This opportunity is a contract position located near Black Hawk, CO, serving King Murphy Elementary in Evergreen.

Qualifications and Preferred Experience:

• Active Special Education teaching certification (Colorado or eligible for reciprocity)
• Prior experience as a Special Education Teacher in school settings
• Thorough understanding of developing and implementing IEPs
• Strong communication skills with students, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Ability to adapt instructional methods to various learning needs
• Organized, compassionate, and committed to student growth

Responsibilities:

• Design and execute individualized lesson plans tailored to students’ unique strengths and challenges
• Assess student progress and document evidence toward IEP goals
• Collaborate with general education teachers, aides, and support staff for student success
• Communicate regularly with families, providing updates and strategies for ongoing support
• Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom culture
• Maintain accurate and confidential records following all relevant laws and school guidelines
• Participate in team meetings, professional development, and planning sessions
