This opportunity is a contract position located near Black Hawk, CO, serving King Murphy Elementary in Evergreen.
Qualifications and Preferred Experience:
- Active Special Education teaching certification (Colorado or eligible for reciprocity)
- Prior experience as a Special Education Teacher in school settings
- Thorough understanding of developing and implementing IEPs
- Strong communication skills with students, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Ability to adapt instructional methods to various learning needs
- Organized, compassionate, and committed to student growth
Responsibilities:
- Design and execute individualized lesson plans tailored to students’ unique strengths and challenges
- Assess student progress and document evidence toward IEP goals
- Collaborate with general education teachers, aides, and support staff for student success
- Communicate regularly with families, providing updates and strategies for ongoing support
- Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom culture
- Maintain accurate and confidential records following all relevant laws and school guidelines
- Participate in team meetings, professional development, and planning sessions
