Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Valid teaching license with a Special Education endorsement
• Prior experience teaching students with special needs, preferably in elementary or middle school settings
• Familiarity with toileting assistance protocols and willingness to provide personal care support
• Compassionate approach and strong communication skills with students, staff, and families
• Experience collaborating in a classroom team environment

Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging instruction to students in either an elementary classroom (caseload of 6) or a middle school classroom (caseload of 11)
• Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies to meet each student’s IEP goals
• Provide toileting assistance as needed (no feeding assistance in the elementary setting; one middle schooler has a feeding tube)
• Foster a safe, welcoming classroom atmosphere that supports social-emotional and academic growth
• Collaborate daily with teaching assistants, behavior technicians, and support staff to ensure individualized attention for each student
• Monitor student progress, manage documentation, and communicate effectively with families
