This onsite, contract opportunity is perfect for a Special Education Teacher with experience guiding students’ academic, social, and daily living skills. The position serves a small caseload of 7-9 students and offers the chance to help learners develop independence and reach their full potential.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification (SPED) for high school level
- Prior experience working with students in life skills or adaptive programs preferred
- Strong instructional skills and ability to differentiate lesson plans
- Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration abilities
- Ability to maintain clear documentation and adhere to Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and related reporting requirements
- Passion for student-centered, inclusive education
Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, adaptive lessons supporting students’ functional academics, daily living skills, and social/emotional growth
- Implement and monitor IEPs in alignment with students’ unique needs
- Collaborate with related service providers, support staff, and families
- Create a structured, supportive classroom environment
- Track student progress, provide timely updates, and participate in meetings and professional development
- Uphold all school and district policies and compliance measures
