Special Education Teacher - Bolingbrook, Illinois

The role is designed to cover a Special Education maternity leave, running from August 10th to October 22nd. You'll be instrumental in guiding learners through vocational skills, functional academics, and daily living tasks as they prepare for life beyond the classroom.

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification
• Experience working with transition-aged students (18-22) strongly preferred
• Background in delivering functional curriculum focusing on vocational training, practical academics, and life skills
• Ability to develop, implement, and adapt Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging instruction tailored to the unique needs of each student in the program
• Empower learners by teaching daily living skills, core academics, and workplace readiness
• Collaborate with colleagues, related service providers, and families to support each student’s transition goals
• Implement assessments and collect data to monitor progress, adjusting lessons as needed
