You'll be instrumental in guiding learners through vocational skills, functional academics, and daily living tasks as they prepare for life beyond the classroom.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification
- Experience working with transition-aged students (18-22) strongly preferred
- Background in delivering functional curriculum focusing on vocational training, practical academics, and life skills
- Ability to develop, implement, and adapt Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging instruction tailored to the unique needs of each student in the program
- Empower learners by teaching daily living skills, core academics, and workplace readiness
- Collaborate with colleagues, related service providers, and families to support each student’s transition goals
- Implement assessments and collect data to monitor progress, adjusting lessons as needed
- Maintain an inclusive, supportive, and structured classroom environment
- Document strategies, progress, and interventions aligned with state and local regulations
