Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting middle school students as a Special Education Teacher in a collaborative, co-taught setting. This position covers grades 7 and is designed for educators dedicated to helping students with reading and math IEP goals succeed alongside their general education peers.
You’ll work closely with a general education teacher in a push-in model for homeroom, ELA, and math, focusing on a small, targeted caseload of 10 students (5 in ELA, 5 in Math). These students are mainstreamed for academics and enjoy shared specials, lunch, and recess. Start as soon as possible and continue through the end of the school year with a manageable daily schedule and dedicated prep/planning time.
What we’re seeking:
- Valid Special Education Teacher credentials/certification (LBS1 required)
- Experience supporting students with IEPs in reading and math
- Familiarity with co-teaching or push-in instructional models
- Ability to plan and modify instruction in collaboration with general education staff
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Your role will include:
- Delivering instruction and interventions to meet IEP goals in ELA and math
- Collaborating daily with a co-teacher to support student learning
- Participating in IEP meetings, student progress monitoring, and parent communication
- Creating an inclusive atmosphere within the mainstream classroom
- Providing accommodations, modifications, and instructional strategies
- Managing documentation and maintaining compliance with special education policies
Enjoy a 32.75-hour workweek with a regular daily schedule: 8:00 AM-3:15 PM (arrive 10 minutes before students, depart 15 minutes after their day ends), a structured 30-minute lunch, and prep/planning time included.
