Make a difference supporting students with special needs in a dynamic school environment! We have exciting contract opportunities for dedicated Special Education Teachers to work onsite with middle and high school populations, focusing on both Life Skills and Resource settings. These positions offer a meaningful chance to empower students and collaborate with a passionate education team.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Certification in Kansas (SPED Cert in KS required)
- Experience with middle and/or high school students preferred
- Ability to provide both resource and life skills instruction
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to students in special education programs, including Life Skills classes at the middle school level and Resource classes for high school students
- Develop, implement, and modify IEPs to support student growth and individual needs
- Work closely with general education teachers and other professionals to adapt curriculum and support inclusion
- Track and document student progress toward educational goals, maintaining compliance with all regulations
- Cultivate positive relationships with students and families to encourage active participation and engagement
- Contribute to building a welcoming, respectful classroom and school community
What We Offer:
- Contract position spanning the 2026-27 academic year (August through May)
- Stable full-time hours at 37.5 hours per week
