Special Education Teacher in Bossier City, LA

Opportunities are available for contract Special Education Teachers to work with K/1 and middle school students, primarily in moderate-level classes with learners on the autism spectrum. Key Qualifications & Certification:

• Current Special Education teaching certification in Louisiana, or a valid LA teaching certificate with a commitment to pursue SPED certification
• Experience working with students with autism or in moderate needs classrooms is preferred
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to tailor instruction to meet diverse learning needs
• Excellent communication, organization, and teamwork abilities

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for each student, ensuring compliance with all federal and state requirements
• Adapt curriculum and instructional methods to accommodate varying needs, with a focus on students with autism
• Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff to promote student success
• Create a safe, positive, and encouraging classroom environment
• Track progress and maintain documentation in line with school and legal requirements
• Participate in meetings, staff development, and ongoing training

This assignment is scheduled for the 2026-2027 school year, with full-time hours (37.5 per week). Multiple vacancies allow for collaboration and peer support within the staff community.
