As a valued educator, you’ll work 37.5 hours per week supporting students’ academic, behavioral, and social-emotional development. Utilize your expertise to develop and implement individualized education plans while working closely with families, colleagues, and support staff to set each student up for success.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification required—Massachusetts preferred
- Experience with IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Background working in a Developmental Learning Classroom or similar specialized setting strongly preferred
- Ability to adapt instructional strategies for students with varied cognitive and developmental needs
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, positive learning environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver differentiated instruction tailored to meet IEP goals and individual student needs
- Design engaging lesson plans and activities for a small-group classroom setting
- Use evidence-based practices for behavioral management and skill development
- Track and document student progress, updating IEPs as required
- Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, therapists, and families
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
- Maintain a safe, encouraging, and structured classroom climate
