Qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education teaching certification
  • Demonstrated experience or coursework in special education strategies and interventions
  • Knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and compliance
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with staff, families, and support personnel
  • Organizational skills to manage caseloads, documentation, and reporting requirements
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in different classroom environments

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver instruction in self-contained, co-teaching, or resource settings based on assignment
  • Develop, write, and maintain IEPs in compliance with state and federal guidelines
  • Conduct ongoing progress monitoring and adjust instructional plans as needed
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and specialists to meet student goals
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and strategies for support
  • Participate in meetings and professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices
