Special Education Teacher - Brainerd, Minnesota

Key Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid teaching licensure in Special Education
• Demonstrated expertise in K-5 special education practices, including IEP development and implementation
• Previous experience as a special education teacher required; leadership or team lead experience preferred
• Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and classroom management for a range of abilities
• Effective communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and staff

Primary Responsibilities:

• Serve as the lead special education teacher for elementary grades, overseeing program implementation and ensuring compliance with all regulations
• Provide direct instruction and support to students, adapting materials and methods as needed to meet individualized learning objectives
• Collaborate with general education staff, paraprofessionals, and support service providers to promote teamwork and consistency across programs
• Facilitate IEP meetings, coordinate assessments, and maintain thorough documentation of student progress
