Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid Special Education Teacher certification/license for Mississippi (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or a related field
  • Experience creating and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Strong knowledge of differentiated instruction methods and classroom behavior management
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Adaptability and patience in dynamic instructional environments

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized lesson plans tailored to students’ unique needs
  • Manage the IEP process, including assessments, meetings, and progress monitoring
  • Foster a safe and inclusive classroom community that encourages student engagement and learning
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and support staff to ensure consistency in student support
  • Communicate regularly with families on student progress and strategies for continued growth
  • Participate in professional development and ongoing training to stay current with best practices in special education
