Special Ed Teacher | Bridgeport, Connecticut

A Special Education Teacher is needed for a middle school self-contained SEL program located in Watertown, CT. This contract position focuses on supporting and educating a small group of five students in a specialized learning environment.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs
• Deliver instruction and support in alignment with special education standards
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning and social-emotional growth
• Collaborate with school staff, families, and related service providers to support student success
• Monitor and track student progress, adjusting strategies accordingly
• Maintain accurate records and comply with all reporting requirements

Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification
• Experience working in self-contained special education settings, preferably with middle school students
• Strong knowledge of social-emotional learning (SEL) strategies and their application
• Ability to manage a small classroom with individualized attention to students
• Effective communication and teamwork skills

Schedule and Location:

• Position is located in Watertown, CT
• Contract role with a schedule from 7:30 AM to 2:40 PM, Monday through Friday
