A Special Education Teacher is needed for a middle school self-contained SEL program located in Watertown, CT. This contract position focuses on supporting and educating a small group of five students in a specialized learning environment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs
- Deliver instruction and support in alignment with special education standards
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning and social-emotional growth
- Collaborate with school staff, families, and related service providers to support student success
- Monitor and track student progress, adjusting strategies accordingly
- Maintain accurate records and comply with all reporting requirements
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Experience working in self-contained special education settings, preferably with middle school students
- Strong knowledge of social-emotional learning (SEL) strategies and their application
- Ability to manage a small classroom with individualized attention to students
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
Schedule and Location:
- Position is located in Watertown, CT
- Contract role with a schedule from 7:30 AM to 2:40 PM, Monday through Friday
